Our Leadership Team

Our team leads on delivering the charity’s vision and purpose. Top of their list is ensuring that the best interest of family and friends carers is always placed firmly at the heart of all we do.

Jennie Musgrove, Chief Executive

Jennie joined Carers Support in 2011. She is passionate about integration between social care and health services and her aim is to grow and future-proof our services for carers right across the county. She is actively developing partnerships and working to influence others to give all carers a strong voice in decisions about their caring role.
Jennie has worked in the NHS, charity management, business development and leadership roles in hospitals, Mental Health services and out in the community.   She holds a Diploma in NHS Management, Cert. in Voluntary and Community Development and an MA (Dist.) in Health and Social Care Leadership and Management. She was selected for the  National Skills Academy Programme in Leadership for Empowered and Healthy Communities and is a firm believer in asset-based community development. She has served on health and charity boards, developed new care and support services and buildings, Care Homes, a long-lasting Healthy Living Centre and Service and local Primary Care Centres.

Jennie loves the world of carers and says: “The success of Carers Support is down to having such a great mix of Trustees, volunteers, managers and staff!  My dream is for primary care hospitals and all community teams to join up information. We want to reach and support as many carers as we possibly can.”

Jane Brown, Carer Services & Locality Manager
Coastal and Rural

Jane became interested in the health and social care sector after she became a carer herself.  She is committed to advancing social care services and support and went back into Higher Education as a mature student achieving a BA in Sociology and fulfilling a lifelong ambition to be a University graduate.

Jane has now been working professionally with carers for over 5 years.   She was previously involved in ground-breaking and award-winning local and national community projects blazing the trail in the arena of Recovery Coaching in the drug and alcohol field.

Jane manages services across the Coastal area of the county with a particular focus on developing networks and partnerships and represents the organisation as a member of Boards for Adult Safeguarding, Disabled Children and Mental Health.  She is interim acting Deputy Chief Executive and also serves as a Trustee Director for the national charity Adfam working with and for families affected by drugs and alcohol.

Having been a carer at several stages of her life Mary understands the pressures of a caring role and is keen that family and friends carers have access to all the support they need.  Mary wants to ensure our teams reach young adult carers and give them support to take opportunities to develop a life for themselves beyond their caring role.

Mary has worked in various voluntary roles over the years and is currently involved with a local Foodbank.

Anne Hardy, Communications and Marketing Manager

Anne Hardy is a graduate in Modern European Studies and holds a postgraduate diploma in Marketing.  She is experienced in managing the marketing function in a number of professional services organisations and has worked in the charitable, education and aviation sectors.  Having always had an interest in the charity sector, Anne’s first job was with a national charity where she developed an interest in marketing and communications and the rest as they say is history.

Anne has personal experience of caring and manages to balance work and family commitments  with the demands of  being a Governor at an OFSTED rated outstanding secondary school where she is a member of the Wellbeing Committee and the Link Governor.

Pat has been with Carers Support since January 2015 following a transfer from a local commercial business.  Pat originally trained and practised as a solicitor before he changed his career path and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.  He has considerable experience in the audit of charities and in the past worked as a Finance Director at an academy secondary school in East Sussex.

Pat also served as a governor of a primary school in Burgess Hill between 2010 and 2013.  Pat leads our small but very professional Finance Team and is highly committed to ensuring that carers remain at the core of all financial and business decisions.
