Carer Wellbeing Support Worker-Community Team
22.5 Hours a week – £13,265 (£21,813 fte)
Location: Based from our Littlehampton Office, covering Chichester South and Bognor Regis areas
Our teams offer support to adults and young adults who are unpaid family and friend Carers. The charity has been accredited as an ‘excellent’ local provider of quality support for Carer wellbeing across the spectrum of information, advice, assessment and support with teams working collaboratively and through partnerships.
You will work as a member of a county-wide team to achieve recognition for all carers, provide information and personal advice, support and advocacy for carers and work in partnership with local voluntary, health and social care services.
Your work with carers will include offering personalised, time-limited support promoting and referring into a range of resources including assistive equipment, training opportunities, relaxation therapies, coping strategies, planning for the future, finances and benefits etc.
You will be providing front line active listening and emotional support for as a worker on our carer telephone response line . Your role will also include raising awareness of our services to generate new referrals and increase the numbers of carers we reach and support.
Key Skills and Experience
You will have experience of working with or an understanding of issues facing carers and be able to relate to people from all walks of life, dealing sensitively with complex issues and situations including at times of emotional need.
You will be able to plan and prioritise your own work, taking the initiative and working independently while being a supportive flexible team member. You’ll need to be proficient in using IT to research information, write letters, maintain database records, organise appointments and communicate with colleagues, carers and partners.
