Carers Support West Sussex are currently developing a new strategy for the next 5 years – and need your feedback…

As your local charity supporting more than 25,000 carers in West Sussex we need your help. We want to know what works (and what doesn’t) for you about Carer Support, so we can make the best plans for the future.

We are increasingly aware of the everyday challenges and obstacles that unpaid carers face. The demands of being an unpaid carer are greater than ever before, with around 6,000 people a day across the UK taking on a caring role to look after a family member or friend. Caring is—and will continue to be—increasingly a part of all our lives.

That’s why it’s so important that we work with our carers, staff, volunteers, Trustees, stakeholders, and network partners, alongside the general public and other groups within our local communities, to develop a plan that sets out our priorities and strategic direction for Carers Support West Sussex over the next 5 years.

As part of our carer engagement, we are holding a number of open feedback sessions at the following locations, and invite you to join us:

We’re pleased to announce the attendance of Dame Phillipa Russell, who has been caring for her disabled son, Simon, for over half a century. Formerly Chair of the Prime Minister’s Standing Commission on Carers, Dame Russell is now a Vice President of Carers UK. Find out more about both her activism and role as a carer here.

Hearing your thoughts and ideas will help us to meet your needs as a carer in the future. We’d be happy to answer any questions you might have: please email and we’ll be in touch.

Your involvement will help make a positive change for carers across West Sussex.

We look forward to collaborating with you as we plan for the future.
