Carer Wellbeing Support Worker ( Worthing Hospital)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
(part-time considered – working 30 hours over 4 days).
Hours: 37 to include some evening and weekend working
Salary: £22,249 for 37 hours
Base: Worthing Hospital with some local travel.
You will also provide Response Line cover on a rota basis from either our Worthing Littlehampton or Crawley office.
We are a successful charity provider working in the community and hospitals with a critical service contract to deliver across the county. We offer a wide range of wellbeing support options and our plans focus on using digital technology and our fundraising to do even more for carers.
Your role will be to raise carer awareness and to identify carers early. Providing on-site support and liaison for carers of patients admitted directly to wards and via A&E in the acute hospitals and also provide some support for carers at local community hospitals.
You will work as a member of a county-wide team to achieve recognition for all carers, provide information and personal advice, support and advocacy for carers and work in partnership with local voluntary, health and social care services.
Skills and Experience
Essential qualities include understanding the issues carers face (gained from personal or work experience) with excellent interpersonal skills along with a desire and commitment to providing a high quality service contributing towards new ways of working.
If you have the ability and willingness to learn with the drive and initiative to apply your personal or work experience to new tasks,we will support your skills and knowledge development if you are looking for a career change or return to work.
Your working days will usually be Monday- Friday with two late shifts a week (11am-7pm and 10am-6pm). You will be required to work 1 day per month on the weekend either a Saturday or Sunday and provide cover on our Response Line once a week which is a 4 hr shift.
Your work pattern will be structured and planned in advance with some flexibility in start and finish times and shift days, allowing you to plan your personal commitments.
