It seems like only yesterday when Simon agreed to be our London Marathon runner in 2019, but here we are with only days to go until he takes on the 26.2 mile challenge around the most famous marathon course in the world.

The training has been tough going at times, but Simon’s commitment to the run has been amazing and we’ll be sending him messages of support this week to give him that extra motivation around the streets of London.

Let’s not forget the challenge of raising £3000 for Carers Support, not an easy challenge either and we at Carers Support West Sussex thank each and every one of you who has donated to his fundraising page.  It means a lot to us and will mean a lot to the carers we support every day.  We have more than 20,000 carers registered with us and whether it be through our Carer Response Line or through our carer groups and workshops, we do everything we can to improve their health and wellbeing.  We couldn’t do that without your support too.

A lot of us will be watching the marathon from the comfort of our sofas this Sunday with a nice cup of coffee and a bacon sandwich.  But remember, Simon will be out there.  Please keep an eye out for him and raise a mug to his amazing achievement.  Good luck Simon, everyone at Carers Support is very proud of you.
