As an organisation we have made the difficult decision to suspend our carer support groups and other face to face activities from 17th March 2020 until further notice.
This is a proactive step to protect the wellbeing of carers and the person you are caring for, our volunteers, staff and the wider community. We will focus our resources on supporting carers via phone and online support.
Our teams are working tirelessly to come up with alternative solutions to deliver peer-to-peer support.
Please keep checking our social media channels and our website for updates.
Going to a support group can seem like a scary prospect to some people, but really it’s just an opportunity to meet other carers in a similar situation to yourself and talk about your experiences and get support as well as picking up helpful practical tips.
Our Support Groups also vary greatly in structure. Some are quite calm and reflective while others are more relaxed and lively. Many of our support groups take place in local cafes and popular meeting places, some move from place to place each month and other include activities and events. There really is a range of different options so that you can find a group you feel most comfortable with.
