It helped to talk with someone

It helped to talk with someone who understands what I’m going through and could offer practical advice.  It was also great to be booked into a couple of events as I don’t always find time to do anything to help myself.

Really helpful

Having check in from carers support has been really helpful for my mental health as well as informative about events and services available. Being granted money towards a activity for me from the carers wellbeing fund has been really helpful towards a small break from my caring duties for myself.

I absolutely felt understood

It was amazing the difference that just having the conversation made. The wellbeing worker was very astute in terms of her questions and responses, and I absolutely felt understood. She was able to explain why I felt the way I did about certain things, such as not wanting to give up work.

Carers Support have saved my sanity

Just being able to talk through my concerns with somebody and to be given good practical advice and be pointed in the right direction really helped. Everything can be very overwhelming, and it is hard to navigate and know what next steps to take when you are faced with a full-time caring role for a loved one (and in my case two loved ones) Carer’s Support have saved my sanity and are continuing to be supportive to me. I would have felt very alone without them.

I enjoyed the entire event/activity

It was so lovely to meet new people who are carers but also to do something enjoyable – to be honest, I enjoyed the entire event/activity – Just to sit there and be in nature, in the sunshine and not have demands on me was bliss!

Someone is actually listening

I feel that someone is actually listening to my concerns and understands the difference of caring for someone who has lost a limb but a whole different ball game caring for someone with dementia.

Listened in a non-judgemental way

Given me such a boost, having someone to off load to, who listened in a non-judgemental way and was able to offer assistance in many areas moving forward, also the prompt response of services she spoke of has been remarkable.

Helped beyond measure

The service provided has helped beyond measure, eternally grateful to such kind and wonderful people who cater for carer’s needs and much more, without assistance I would be here now, it keeps people alive with understanding and empathy within a budget I’m sure they would like to be increased, but what a fine and noble cause amongst all this mayhem and desperation.

My anxiety and stress levels have reduced considerably

I was unaware of all the available help and resources. Being informed of how much support is available has been invaluable. My anxiety and stress levels have reduced considerably. It is a very reassuring service, which made me realise I was not isolated and there are many people whom I can turn to. To have a wonderful lady listen to all my issues, current concerns and my fear of the future helped my mental health and wellbeing.

Found new communities of people

It made me aware that it’s ok to occasionally feel overburdened and that I have places to turn to. I don’tfeel nearly as excluded as often before and have found new communities of people I can share activities with.

Amazing caring people and service

I have been caring for Mum for years with no financial or physical help and did not know there was any help for us both till I contacted benefit support. Amazing caring people and service, I have spoken to who made me realise how much I do and what help Mum and I can get. To help with my health, that is slowly being made worse by the stress and strain of being a carer is.

It’s one of the few places that I feel other people REALLY understand

It’s one of the few places that I feel other people REALLY understand what I have to deal with day to dayThey have provided help and support to me when I had none before. They have been able to suggest where I might access more help and I know that I can always ring their helpline and be listened to and understood.

I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks for the Power Yin session

I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks for the Power Yin session. As a full-time worker and carer to a young man with severe mental impairment, it can be incredibly difficult to find time—or even the space—to leave the house. I wasn’t expecting to feel so uplifted during the session with Becky, but it really made a world of difference. For the first time in a long while, I slept peacefully without racing thoughts keeping me awake. It was exactly what I needed. Your sessions are worth their weight in gold. These sessions bring much-needed calm in a world that often feels relentlessly fast-paced. We could all benefit from a little more stillness and balance in our lives.

Vee, carer who attended a Power Yin session

I was supported and validated

I have been able to talk about how caring affects me and I was not judged, I was supported and validated – it made a whole world of difference at such a terrible time in my life – thank you.

Made me feel so safe

I found the call very therapeutic; I felt listened to and justified in my feelings and emotions regarding the stresses of caring for immediate family. Helen made me feel so safe when we were discussing tricky things. The payments received will certainly alleviate some financial worries and I look forward to using some for “me” time to help me reset.

It was lovely meeting other carers

It was lovely meeting other carers knowing that they are in a similar situation as me, but not having to focus on that if we don’t want to

I was a lot more relaxed, positive

The body scan was brilliant. I joined the session feeling very stressed and worried and but the end of it I was a lot more relaxed, positive and with some more ideas for 10minute self care activities to help in future. Also will practice the body scan again too. Thank you really helpful.
