Employer awareness of carer employees training

This session is designed for employers and managers who want to better understand and support unpaid carers in the workplace. It covers the benefits to employers of supporting their unpaid carer workforce and builds awareness of who carers are (many of whom may not identify as such) and explores the practical, emotional and workplace challenges they may experience when balancing work alongside caring responsibilities.

The session provides a clear overview of carers’ rights within employment, alongside the legal and good-practice responsibilities of employers and managers. It also highlights how Carers Support West Sussex (CSWS) can support organisations to become more carer-aware, while offering direct advice, guidance and tailored support to carers themselves, helping create more inclusive and resilient workplaces.
