Dementia Awareness Week events open to the public

Dementia Action Week is an awareness raising campaign, and this year is between 16 and 22 May. Each year, the Alzheimer’s Society works with individuals and organisations across the UK to encourage people to ‘act on dementia’. This year’s campaign will focus on the theme of diagnosis.

Raising awareness of the disease, getting a diagnosis and treatment for symptoms and support for people with dementia and their family and friends is vital. In 2020, it was estimated that 16,650 people have dementia in West Sussex and by 2030, this figure is estimated to rise to 22,450 people. At Carers Support West Sussex we support many thousands of carers of people living with dementia or memory issues.
